We are pleased to offer this lovely country home located in the heart of the prestigious and world famous Douro Valley, the oldest registered wine region in the world. From this villa guests will enjoy unforgettable stunning views of vineyards and olive groves and the surrounding unspoilt villages.
Accommodation
The Villa is a typical example of a Douro schisty stone built home extensively renovated from an old ruin, making the whole a superb villa, tastefully furnished to the highest standards. Every single piece of furniture is authentic and mostly portuguese. The attractive decor throughout the house creates a unique atmosphere that will certainly make your stay memorable.Guests will be pampered by local staff living on a nearby village composed of a maid and cook who take care of the cleaning of the house. Other services such as daily breakfast, preparing lunches and/or dinners are available at an extra cost. The food was tasted by us and is purely excellent! This villa is a child friendly property making it suitable for families seeking an unforgettable holiday in one of Portugal's most sought after destination.

Lower floor: Fully fitted kitchen. Spacious living room and dining area with comfortable seating, satellite TV, DVD player and music centre. Guest toilet.
Upper floor: First floor: Two double bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom / shower room. Each of these two bedrooms has a door opening onto a delightful balcony (that runs the full length of the house) from where you can appreciate superb views over the valley. Twin bedroom with ensuite shower room. Studio room with a sofa bed sleeping 2 adults or 2 children.

Sunbathing terrace around and above the irregular shape swimming pool (the widest corner has 6.30 metres). The depth is from 1.10 to 1.40 metres. Pool side shower, barbecue area and games room.

Dear Diana, Thank you for your email regarding the villa 310, in Portugal. We are very happy to give you feedback on our stay. We had a lovely time at the villa, which was comfortable and spacious.The site had been used to advantage and the different levels afforded fantastic views. We also liked the fact that the villa had modern facilities, but was furnished in traditional style, so we felt very at home, as the style of furnishings is similar to our own home. The housekeeper, Estrella, is very consciencious and hard - working. She is also an excellent cook and a fund of information and went out of her way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. For example, she chose different types of bread and cold meat for breakfast and bought soya milk, as I have an allergy to cow's milk. Estrella actually cooked a full English breakfast for us on our last morning, before we left to go to Lisbon, after watching me cook one for our son. The house and location suited our family holiday we were able to enjoy the facilities, the pool and terraces .The gamesroom was used every evening, as darkness fell fairly early, as it was September. In our opinion, the house needs a family group to stay, to enjoy the peace and quiet and each others' company, as there are no shops etc in the hamlet of Gouves. Pinhao is a friendly little town, which we liked visiting, but the distance and our 18 month old grandson meant that we had lunches out, but dinner in the villa. The booking procedure was efficient, as far as I am aware, as my husband dealt with the booking. We were also impressed by the offer of an extra night's stay, as a result of our flight being a day early. In addition, we were persuaded to have the breakfast each day - it was lovely not to have to cook first thing in the morning! The dinners Estrella cooked were delicious and she made sure that she bought very fresh ingredients. I should also mention her welcome of home - made cake and her brother's port, upon our arrival! Hoi, We zijn weer een paar dagen terug van opnieuw een mooie vakantie in Portugal. Over het eerste huis in de Douro-vallei niks dan lof. Wat is dat een mooi huis zeg en dan het uitzicht, echt heel prachtig. Ik kan je echt aanraden om daar ook naar toe te gaan. We kregen tot onze verrassing elke morgen een uitgebreid ontbijt, dus dat was echt heel luxe hoor! Wij vonden het zelf daar heel erg mooi, maar de kinderen hadden het na een paar dagen wel gezien, ze vonden het iets te rustig. Daarom was het goed dat het 2e huis dichter bij een grote stad was. Ook daar weer een prachtig uitzicht over Braga. Heel dicht bij de stad en toch helemaal geen herrie. O ja, de schuifdeuren van het zwembad gaan niet open, want dat heeft weer met de klimaatbeheersing te maken volgens Sergio. Het viel ons wel op dat het toch drukker wordt in de Minho-streek. De toeristen gaan deze streek dus echt ontdekken (en waarderen!). Groetjes en wie weet tot een volgende keer.

We came here in July 2010 for 6 days. Voted to return at harvest time and stay longer. It was worth it! Of course the view is stunning| The breakfast, excellent! Estrela – always ready to help and very knowledgeable. Thank you for your hard work! We see more

Estrela – always ready to help and very knowledgeable. Thank you for your hard work! We returned to Quinta da Avessada and again was guested by Luis and his brother Miguel. We got to enjoy a glimpse of Portuguese culture. We thank you Luis and Miguel! We feel we have made some life long friends here In the Douro Valley. A most spectacular place. We had the pleasure to meet the manager of this lovely house, a real gentleman and very genuine. We hope to return again to this most beautiful house and most beautiful “país” of the world. Beste , Het was weerom een prachtige vakantie in Portugal. De villa was SUPER. Zoals je dus al eerder vermeld had was de locatie inderdaad rustiger dan de vorige . De villa was zeer ruim en netjes. We hebben wel geen afgevaardigde gezien van het buresee more
Beste , Het was weerom een prachtige vakantie in Portugal. De villa was SUPER. Zoals je dus al eerder vermeld had was de locatie inderdaad rustiger dan de vorige . De villa was zeer ruim en netjes. We hebben wel geen afgevaardigde gezien van het bureau om een waarborg aan te geven,maar hadden wel een nummer van de poetsvrouw gekregen in geval er problemen zouden zijn. Nu zijn we weer een dikke maand later en hebben we allemaal toch weer ontzettend veel zin om de klok effe terug te draaien om te genieten van een gezellig samen zijn en te genieten van de kinderen en het ""niets"" doen. Hierbij zouden we je ook nog eens ontzettend willen bedanken voor de ongelofelijke assistentie en informatie die we telkens weer van je konden ontvangen. Ik heb in onze vrienden en familie kring al véél reclame gemaakt over jullie organisatie . Omdat dit jaar het derde op rij was dat we naar Portugal zijn geweest,opteren we om volgend jaar Italie een bezoekje te brengen. Hebben jullie daar ook iets ? Nogmaals bedant voor de fijne samenwerking en misschien tot later!
